FUNDING

• Our next grant opportunity opens on the 1st February with the Logan City Council’s Artists Development Program – Kingston Butter Factory. This is a great opportunity for DEAI as it will give us the chance to offer participants workshops to enhance their musical skills as well as a venue for DEAI to perform gigs.
• Equipment (provided through our successful grant submission with the GCBF) has been ordered. We are just waiting on a couple of items from Apple before pickup and then Stephan has the job of data transfer!!

DEAI AGM

• Our Annual General Meeting was held on the 11th December 2023.
• It was decided at this meeting to continue with, but place less effort on our applications to become charitable and NDIS approved at this stage, and greater energy focussing on what the Logan City Council has to offer.

PARTNERING with SWARA

• Our audience at Swara is getting bigger each fortnight, with participants also joining us from Precious Angels and Our Shining Stars. We had about 10 wheelchair participants up dancing from Precious Angels last fortnight. It was wonderful seeing everyone enjoying themselves.
• We would like to thank Swara and staff for welcoming these care facilities and their participants.
• We are witnessing so much growth and confidence within participants wanting to come up on stage and perform their favourite songs and we thank you guys – it fills our hearts to see you shine.
• Kibria is back after a few months break and rocking it! His performance of “Iris” last fortnight was fantastic!

DEAI HUB

• Tuition at the DEAI Hub is available from our main man Waz and is on offer to anyone who would like to enhance their musical skills – whether it be vocal training or instrument guidance and practice.
