OUR NEWS >>>

FUNDING

  • A BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors who are on board with us so far 🙏
  • Blue Bus Tours – Geoff and Sandra thank you, your support throughout 2024 has been a tremendous help! Blue Bus Tours is a fun and relaxing way to travel. Check out their amazing tour schedule for 2025 from the above link.
  • Employment Training Centre ETC provided us with $5000 to support the development stage of our KBF workshops and without their support, these events would not have been possible and the great success they were! THANK YOU!
  • Currumbin Valley Harvest The wonderful team at Currumbin Valley Harvest have virtually been supporting us from day dot by collecting their bottles and cans and then matching that donation.
  • Phoenix Lifestyle Support Association continues to support us on a monthly basis for which we are very grateful.
  • DEAI urgently needs more funding to keep our cause alive! Helping this community of people is a joyful and rewarding experience for all. Please pass on our details to anyone who may be able to help.

BUTTER FACTORY WORKSHOPS

  • Oh, what a party! Our Christmas Finale Module 6 showcased our participants’ growth and confidence with parents and friends witnessing their achievements.
  • Participants were very excited to be presented with a Certificate of Completion for attending the 6 Modules.
  • Stephan, DEAI’s newly appointed GM, is in the process of collaborating with the Logan City Council and ETC for further workshops to be developed and presented throughout 2025
  • Once again, we thank Logan Arts for the use of their magnificent events venue ”The Kingston Butter Factory”.

FUNDRAISING

  • Unfortunately we had to cancel our Sunday 15th December and Sunday 29th Bunnings BBQ’s due to our President injuring his back! This led us to realize we didn’t have back up support for running these BBq’s as we are a Disability Organisation alot of our helpers suffer anxiety within crowds and confined spaces .. SO if you would like to contribute by helping out at one of these fundraisers, please let us know.
  • A big thank you to Roberto Bezzera for giving up his Sunday to help out. Thank you also to our lovely Cathy and her son Eddie.

THE HUB

  • We were pleased we were able to extend the lease at the hub for another year which gives the guys space to collaborate and create.

CAN YOU HELP

  • DEAI needs more volunteers! If you would like to help and be part of our team, contact Mick 0414 987 289 or Jenny 0412 083 427.
  • We are still looking for a social media person who would be willing to donate a few hours of their time.
  • DEAI is a Centrelink approved voluntary organisation.
