Our Aims & Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n Our primary objective is to deliver entertainment to a substantial segment of the population for whom typical social interaction presents challenges. Our productions are specifically developed to ensure neurodivergent and disabled individuals feel at ease within their personal norms, thereby fostering enhanced and more fulfilling social engagement.<\/p>\n Who is DEAI?<\/strong><\/p>\n DEAI is an organisation dedicated to music workshops, private tuition and live interactive entertainment that enriches the lives of individuals within the autistic, neurodivergent, and disability communities.<\/p>\n What is the show about?<\/strong><\/p>\n The event features music, sound levels, lighting, and songs curated specifically for individuals on the spectrum, performed in a secure, inclusive setting that encourages participants to express themselves freely.<\/p>\n Who performs the music?<\/strong><\/p>\n Our showband, \u201cSpektrum\u201d, consists of highly experienced professional musicians from the club and corporate entertainment industries. We aim to assemble multiple teams to facilitate shows across Australia where they are most needed.<\/p>\n What type of music is presented?<\/strong><\/p>\n The repertoire includes uplifting and positive songs, some composed by musicians who themselves identify as neurodivergent. The Band Leader, Warren Thomas, is a high-functioning autistic individual. Additionally, selections are informed by research demonstrating beneficial effects for the neurodiverse community.<\/p>\n How are songs selected?<\/strong><\/p>\n The concept for DEAI originated from a publication by the US-based organization \u201cAutism Connect,\u201d particularly the article titled “21 Songs That May Help People with Autism.”<\/p>\n How do clients engage with the music?<\/strong><\/p>\n Neurodiversity encompasses a broad range of experiences; hence, our audience members may present various disabilities or unique requirements. To address this diversity, we maintain consistency in our show format, music selection, and support personnel, enabling us to monitor individual preferences and minimize potential triggers.<\/p>\n What is the cost of hosting a show?<\/strong><\/p>\n Shows of 1.5 hours duration is priced at $900. DEAI also actively seeks sponsorship to better serve the community while providing stable employment opportunities for entertainers and show managers.<\/p>\n What distinguishes a DEAI show from traditional performances?<\/strong><\/p>\n Individuals with autism may encounter significant sensory stimuli.
